L B McNicoll is a Scottish Artist from the town of South Queensferry near Edinburgh.
Living by the Firth of Forth, L B McNicoll has been inspired by the many moods of the sea and the beautiful skies over the local area. He strives to capture these dramatic scenes of natural beauty in his oil paintings. As a result, the themes of the sky with its fleeting, dramatic formations of clouds and the reflection of light are often the focal point in his work.
L B McNicoll also draws upon inspiration from his journeys around Scotland and abroad. The dramatic weather conditions and coastal scenery of Orkney and the beautiful countryside of Bavaria with its lovely local character have strongly influence his oil paintings.
At present, L B McNicoll is continuing his series of paintings inspired by KasiaD. He is also working on paintings evoking the scenes on his doorstep: The Forth Rail Bridge floodlit at night and the effect of the reflected light on the Firth of Forth.
A selection of L B McNicoll's work is on show on this site in the section Gallery: Paintings and you'll find details of exhibitions and locations displaying L B McNicoll's original paintings under Exhibitions and Events.
